Hello.

I’m Tory, a fifth-year PhD candidate (ABD) in business management at the University of Nevada, Reno.

My research focuses on employee voice—why and how people speak up (or don’t) in groups, and what both the voicer and others learn from those behaviors and interactions. I aim to expand our understanding of voice so organizations can build environments where speaking up is fully embraced, leading to better outcomes for both individuals and organizations.

I also study how technology shapes academic and organizational processes, including the effects of online survey quality and the evolving role of AI in research.

When I’m not working, I’m usually rock climbing, road tripping, or taking photos.

“By ‘voice’ I mean any attempt at all to change, rather than to escape from, an objectionable state of affairs.”
